• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-6584-G is the left-hand cylinder bank valve cover gasket for 17-25 F-150, Expedition, and Navigator applications equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbocharged engine. It supersedes the earlier HL3Z-6584-B service number. The molded composite gasket seals the LH valve cover to the cylinder head face, containing the oil-pressurized rocker compartment and preventing engine oil weeping at the cover-to-head joint across the operating temperature range. The integrated metal-core reinforcement at the bolt-hole compression zones holds the seal under repeated thermal cycling without taking a permanent compression set that would otherwise lead to seep formation around individual bolt heads. The gasket is supplied included with the valve cover assembly as an integrated part, and is also available separately for cover removal during ignition coil, spark plug, or turbocharger service that requires the valve cover to come off. Sealing surfaces on both the cover and head must be perfectly clean and dry before installation, and cover bolts must be torqued in the Ford-specified pattern and stages to avoid cover distortion and uneven sealing pressure at any single bolt hole.
