Genuine Ford OEM A clutch steel plate part number HL3Z-7F220-A, an internal clutch pack steel reaction plate of the 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmission. This plate fits 17-25 Ford F-150, 18-25 Mustang, 18-25 Expedition, 19-25 Ranger, and 18-25 Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with the 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmission. The plate is called out in Ford 10R80 technical service bulletin (TSB supersedes earlier revision) for A clutch service. Per the TSB, two pieces are required per service procedure. The steel plate provides the rigid steel surface that the A clutch friction plates press against during clutch engagement to transmit torque. The A clutch element uses friction plates HL3Z-7B164-E paired with steel plates HL3Z-7F220-A and a pressure plate from the HL3Z-7B066 series. Replacement is appropriate during transmission rebuild service when A clutch steel plates show heat discoloration, surface wear, or warping. The plates are single-use parts. Installation requires the workshop assembly procedure for proper clutch pack stack-up and endplay verification with the selective A clutch apply plate. Ships in original Ford packaging with the standard Ford limited parts warranty.
