This seal fits 17-25 Ford F-150, 18-25 Mustang, 18-25 Expedition, 19-25 Ranger, and 18-25 Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with the 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmission. The seal mounts on the manual shaft where it exits the transmission case to mate with the external shift linkage, providing the rotating shaft seal that prevents transmission fluid leakage past the manual shaft. Replacement is appropriate when the original seal has hardened due to age and heat exposure, when external fluid leakage is observed near the shift linkage entry point, or as part of a major transmission service. The seal is a single-use part. Installation requires careful handling to avoid damage to the seal lip during installation over the manual shaft. Ford recommends clean transmission fluid on the seal lip during installation. Genuine Ford seals maintain the factory pressure rating and material specification required for proper 10R80 operation.
