Genuine Ford OEM automatic transmission output shaft seal and extension housing seal part number HL3Z-7052-A, the rear-most seal that prevents transmission fluid leakage from the output shaft journal. This seal fits 17-25 Ford F-150, Mustang, Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with the 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmission, primarily on rear-wheel drive applications. The seal is a precision elastomer lip seal with a press-fit metal outer shell. Replacement is appropriate when the original seal develops a fluid leak at the rear of the transmission housing, when the lip wears or hardens after high mileage, or when the seal is disturbed during driveshaft service. A failed output shaft seal commonly produces a slow drip onto the underbody and gradually drops transmission fluid level, leading to slip symptoms or overheating if not addressed. Installation requires the workshop-specified seal driver to install the seal squarely and to the factory depth in the extension housing. Ford recommends clean transmission fluid on the seal lip during installation. The seal is a single-use part. Ships in original Ford packaging with the standard Ford limited parts warranty.
