Genuine Ford OEM transmission extension housing seal part number HL3Z-7052-B, used on four-wheel drive vehicles between the transmission tailshaft and the transfer case input. This seal fits 17-25 Ford F-150 4WD without hybrid with the 10R80, F-250 Super Duty 4WD with the 10R100, F-350 Super Duty 4WD with the 10R100, Expedition 4WD, Lincoln Navigator 4WD, and Ranger 4WD vehicles. The seal is a precision elastomer lip seal with a press-fit metal outer shell that prevents transmission fluid leakage where the output shaft passes through the transfer case adapter. Replacement is appropriate when the original seal develops a fluid leak at the transmission-to-transfer-case interface, when the lip wears after high mileage, or when the seal is disturbed during transfer case service. A failed seal commonly produces a slow drip onto the transfer case housing and gradually drops transmission fluid level. Installation requires the workshop-specified seal driver to install the seal squarely to the factory depth in the extension housing. Ford recommends clean transmission fluid on the seal lip during installation. The seal is a single-use part. Ships in original Ford packaging with the standard Ford limited parts warranty.
