  This is a genuine Ford starter motor for the 18-20 F-150 equipped with the 3.3L V6 or the 3.5L EcoBoost V6. It is the V6 counterpart to the V8 starter on this generation truck, using different mounting bolt patterns and pinion engagement geometry calibrated to the V6 flywheel ring gear specification. The starter incorporates a high-current solenoid that simultaneously closes the heavy-gauge battery circuit and shifts the pinion into engagement with the ring gear, producing the cranking rotation needed for cold-start combustion. A genuine starter delivers the cranking torque profile the engine calibration expects, which influences cold-start emissions, catalyst light-off time, and fuel trim values during the first seconds of engine operation.
