  This is a genuine Ford rear camera for the 18-20 F-150 equipped without the Raptor configuration but with the Pro Trailer Backup Assist option, supersedes earlier revisions JL3Z-19G490-B and JL3Z-19G490-L. The camera is the trailer-assist variant of the rear camera, providing the rearward video feed used by the Pro Trailer Backup Assist system to identify the trailer position and angle relative to the truck during reverse maneuvers. The camera includes additional resolution or image processing capabilities required by the trailer assist algorithms beyond the basic rear backup camera. Failure modes mirror those of the basic rear camera: water intrusion, physical damage, lens hazing, sensor failure, and connector corrosion. Symptoms include distorted or absent video in reverse, fault codes from the Pro Trailer Backup Assist module, intermittent function of the trailer assist features, and complete failure of the trailer backup system to engage even when the trailer is properly attached and a sticker target is in place. The genuine camera carries the correct image specification for both the basic backup function and the trailer assist processing. Substituting a non-trailer-assist camera in a truck so equipped will produce trailer assist fault codes and disable the feature.
