• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford rear right ABS wheel speed sensor for the 18-20 F-150 equipped without the Raptor configuration, with the electric parking brake feature, and without the special service vehicle option, supersedes earlier revision JL3Z-2C190-A. The sensor measures the rotational speed of the rear right wheel through a magnetic field interaction with a toothed tone ring or magnetic pulse ring mounted on the axle, reporting wheel speed to the ABS module for use in antilock braking, traction control, stability control, and any trailer assist features that read off wheel speed. The sensor includes the integrated wire harness that routes from the wheel speed sensor location to the chassis harness connector. Failure modes include physical damage to the sensor housing from off-pavement contact or stone strikes, internal sensor failure from age or thermal cycling, harness damage from chronic flexing or rodent activity, and connector corrosion at the chassis harness interface. Symptoms include ABS, traction control, or stability control warning lights, fault codes pointing to the rear right wheel speed sensor circuit, intermittent ABS activation on dry roads, and in some cases speedometer behavior anomalies if the sensor is used in the vehicle speed calculation.
