The mirror provides the rearward view from the passenger side of the truck and uses electric motors to adjust the mirror glass position from the driver door switch panel. The mirror housing is a serviceable assembly that fails through cracked or broken housings from low-speed contact with obstacles, internal motor failure that prevents glass adjustment, glass breakage from impact, and electrical connector corrosion that produces intermittent function. The genuine mirror carries the correct connector pinout, motor specifications, and mounting bolt pattern for the F-150 application without these optional features. Substituting a mirror with different option content can produce integration problems if the chassis harness does not provide the necessary circuits for the additional features.
