• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford tail light socket and wiring harness for the 18-20 F-150. The harness provides the connectors and sockets that interface between the chassis wiring and the bulbs inside the tail light assembly, carrying the circuits for brake, tail, turn signal, reverse, and any auxiliary lighting depending on the truck's specification. The harness is a serviceable assembly that fails through corrosion at the bulb sockets, melted insulation from heat near the exhaust, pin damage at the chassis connector, or physical damage from interior cargo bumping against the inboard side of the tail light cavity. Symptoms include intermittent or non-functional rear lighting on specific circuits, blown fuses for the tail light circuit, melted plastic odor from the tail light area, and bulb-out warnings on the instrument cluster even after bulb replacement. A genuine harness carries the correct connector keying, wire gauges, and socket types for the F-150 tail light specification; using the correct part avoids the integration problems that arise when a generic or repurposed harness is forced into the chassis connector. Replacement requires removing the tail light assembly to access the harness from behind and may require careful unclipping of retention tabs to release the harness from the body cavity.
