• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid for the 2018 through 2021 Ford EcoSport a key valve in the evaporative emissions control system. The purge solenoid is a normally closed electronic valve that the powertrain control module pulses open to draw stored fuel vapor from the charcoal EVAP canister into the engine intake where it is burned during combustion rather than vented to the atmosphere. Proper operation keeps the fuel system sealed and the EVAP monitor functioning. When this solenoid fails it commonly sticks open leaks or fails to seal which sets evaporative system diagnostic trouble codes and illuminates the check engine light.
