  Genuine Ford OEM air conditioning compressor for 2018 through 2022 Expedition and Navigator, branded as Motorcraft YCC-631. The compressor pulls refrigerant through the evaporator and pushes it out through the condenser to drive cabin cooling, and on these full-size platforms the compressor also handles the rear A/C circuit load when the second-row evaporator is active. This suffix supersedes the earlier JL1Z-19703-AB and reflects updated internal valve geometry that improves cycling response in extended highway operation. As a Motorcraft-branded unit the rotor balance, internal clearances, and refrigerant oil charge are correct for the platform without supplemental adjustment. non-OEM compressors in this fitment commonly arrive without the proper PAG oil charge, which leads to clutch chatter within the first season of use and premature failure of the front-of-clutch bearing. Replace the receiver-drier and orifice tube whenever a compressor is changed, and flush the condenser if the previous compressor failed catastrophically. Failure to evacuate the system to specified depth before recharge causes moisture contamination that destroys the new compressor within months. Sold individually.
