• Description:

  This is the Genuine Ford automatic transmission fluid cooler inlet tube for 18-22 F-150, the line that carries fluid from the transmission case into the cooler circuit before it is returned to the gearbox. The tube is a formed metal and rubber assembly with quick-connect fittings sized for the 10R80 trans on this generation of truck. Routing follows the chassis between the engine bay and the front of the vehicle, supported by the original clips and isolators that keep the tube clear of the exhaust and steering components. A correct ATF cooler line is critical to fluid flow and pressure. A degraded inlet tube can develop a slow seep at a crimp, swell internally and restrict flow under load, or fail catastrophically and dump fluid in seconds. Replacing the inlet tube as a wear item or whenever a leak is found at one of its joints restores OEM-spec routing and sealing without the fitment issues that come with cut-and-shut non-OEM lines. Drain a small amount of ATF before disconnecting the quick-connects, install with new clips where specified, refill the transmission with the published fluid, and recheck at the correct temperature.
