  This cylinder head bolt is the current service part for 18-23 Mustang 5.0L Coyote Gen 3 engines and supersedes JR3Z-6065-B in the Ford catalog. The bolt is a torque-to-yield design intended for single-use installation; once tightened to specification it has stretched beyond its elastic limit and must not be reused. Any cylinder head removal job requires a full group of bolts, not reuse of the originals. The bolt threads engage the engine block deck and clamp the cylinder head to the block, with the gasket sealing combustion pressure between the two. Installation follows Ford's specified torque-and-angle sequence; the published torque-to-yield procedure brings each bolt to a final preload that the bolt design depends on for proper head sealing. Skipping the angle step or reusing the original bolts leads to head gasket failure, coolant migration into combustion chambers, and oil migration into coolant. This is a consumable fastener — order the full set required for the job, never just one or two as spares.
