  This genuine Ford insulator is a fuel injector isolator for the 5.0L Coyote V8 on the 2018-2023 Mustang, the companion variant to the related insulator in the same injector-mounting family, cushioning the fuel injector where it seats so combustion and vibration pulses are damped and the injector is held in alignment. Cataloged by Ford as Insulator, it is a precision molded component that maintains injector position and helps quiet the injector, and the 9K540 family is also used on related 5.0L applications including the F-150 5.0L. A worn, hardened, or missing insulator can allow injector tick or a ticking noise from the top of the engine, permit injector movement, or contribute to sealing and noise concerns, and it is routinely disturbed whenever the fuel rail or injectors come off for service.
