• Description:

  This fuel pump and sender assembly is the dealer service in-tank unit for Mustang 5.0L applications. The assembly combines the primary in-tank electric fuel pump and the fuel level sending unit into a single module that mounts through the top of the fuel tank. The pump delivers fuel from the tank to the engine fuel rail, with the high-pressure direct injection pump (JR3Z-9350-C) taking over at the engine to bring pressure up to direct injection levels. The sender provides the fuel level signal to the instrument cluster. Replacement is most often needed when the in-tank pump has failed (producing a crank-no-start condition), when the level sender is reading incorrectly (showing wrong fuel level on the cluster), or when contaminated fuel has compromised the pump's internal screen and pumping capacity. Installation requires the fuel tank to be drained and the access cover to be removed; verify the tank seal is fresh during reinstallation and that all connections are torqued to specification.
