• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor, cataloged as Sensor - HEGO and carrying the Motorcraft designation DY-1607, for 2018 through 2023 Mustang models powered by the 5.0L Coyote V8. It mounts in the left front upstream position ahead of the catalytic converter and measures the oxygen content of the exhaust stream, sending a voltage signal that lets the powertrain control module trim the air-fuel mixture for proper combustion, catalyst efficiency, and emissions compliance. The internal heater brings the sensing element up to operating temperature quickly after a cold start so closed-loop fuel control begins sooner.
