  This is a genuine Ford headrest guide sleeve used in the front seat backs of 18-23 Mustang S550 platform vehicles, supplied in the alternate -DL color and finish variant of the base 96610A16 family. The guide sleeve is the plastic cylinder that locks the headrest post into the top of the seat back foam carrier and provides the friction detent allowing the headrest to be raised, lowered, and locked into position. The -DL suffix typically reflects a different interior color or trim sub-variant than other -A series suffixes, so it is important to confirm the correct color code and trim level for your VIN before ordering. Replacement is most often needed after a headrest has been removed for seat cleaning or upholstery service and the internal locking tang has been damaged.
