This is a genuine Ford air conditioning compressor assembly, the belt-driven pump at the heart of the climate system that draws in low-pressure refrigerant vapor and compresses it into a high-pressure gas so the condenser and evaporator can remove heat and cool the cabin. It fits the 2018-2023 Ford Mustang GT with the 5.0L Coyote V8 and includes the magnetic clutch, pulley, and field coil pre-assembled, ready to accept the drive belt. The Ford catalog lists it as Compressor Assy and it corresponds to Motorcraft YCC-465 and YCC-632. This unit is the current service part and supersedes JR3Z-19703-A and JR3Z-19703-C. Owners typically need a compressor when the air conditioning blows warm, when the clutch fails to engage or is noisy, when the pulley bearing rumbles or squeals, or after an internal failure has contaminated the system with debris. When replacing a failed compressor, the system should be flushed and the accumulator or drier and the orifice tube or expansion device replaced, and the correct refrigerant and PAG oil installed, to prevent repeat failure.
