• Description:

  This genuine Ford active exhaust valve actuator is the electric motor and valve mechanism that opens and closes the flap inside the active-valve performance exhaust on the 2018-2023 Mustang, allowing the powertrain module to vary exhaust flow and tone between quiet and loud modes. By modulating the exhaust valve, it lets the driver select quieter operation for normal or quiet-start situations and a fuller, louder note for sport and track modes, while also reducing drone at cruise. A failed actuator commonly shows up as an exhaust valve stuck open or closed, a constant loud or constant quiet exhaust that will not change with drive mode, a clicking or grinding noise from the muffler area, or a stored diagnostic trouble code for the exhaust valve control circuit. Replacing the actuator restores the selectable exhaust modes and correct valve operation. This part fits 2018-2023 Mustang models equipped with the GT active valve performance exhaust system. When installing, make sure the actuator is correctly indexed to the valve shaft and that the electrical connector is fully seated and routed away from heat, then verify normal open and close operation through the drive mode settings after the repair.
