• Description:

  This driver-side rear bumper side support bracket is the dealer service mount for 18-23 Mustang 2.3L EcoBoost and 5.0L. The bracket sits between the rear bumper cover and the rear quarter panel structure, supporting the cover's outboard end at the transition to the quarter. Replacement is most often needed after rear collision damage, when the bracket has deformed under impact loads, or when a previous repair removed the bracket but did not reinstall it. The bracket is stamped steel; once bent, it cannot be straightened reliably. Installation uses the factory mounting holes in the rear bumper cover and the quarter panel inner flange. After installation, verify that the bumper-to-quarter gap is uniform top to bottom and that the cover sits flush in the quarter plane. A properly mounted bracket draws the cover into alignment without forcing. If a gap remains after installation, the adjacent quarter or rear panel is likely deformed and needs separate attention before the bumper will hold its line.
