This upper radiator support cover, also called the sight shield, is the dealer service unit for 18-23 Mustang GT and EcoBoost applications. The cover sits over the radiator support cross member at the front of the engine bay, providing the finished appearance under the hood and a measure of protection for the radiator and cooling stack against debris and contaminants. Replacement is needed when the cover has cracked from impact or thermal stress, when retaining clips have broken and the cover has come loose, when sun exposure has faded the textured finish badly, or when a previous service removed the cover and did not reinstall it. The cover is molded plastic. Installation uses the factory clip and fastener locations on the radiator support and inner fender areas. Verify all retainers are engaged before considering the job complete. After installation, sight down the cover edges to confirm flush alignment with the surrounding structure.
