This CDF (clutch drum forward) cylinder and hub assembly is the dealer service component for 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmissions installed in 18-23 Ford Ranger, 3.3L Explorer Police Interceptor, and 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang applications. This service number supersedes JR3Z-7H351-A and is the current part to install per Ford TSB 23-2250, which addresses 10R80 harsh-shift and delayed-engagement complaints with an updated CDF drum design. The component is a primary internal clutch element; replacement requires transmission removal, disassembly to the CDF drum location, and rebuild during reassembly. The companion JL3Z-7H351-B serves 5.0L Mustang, Transit, 3.0L Explorer, F-150, Expedition, and Navigator; the ML3Z-7H351-B serves later F-150 and 22-23 Expedition/Navigator. Ordering the wrong service number for the application results in an incorrect part. Service must be performed by a technician familiar with 10R80 internal disassembly; this is not a part for casual repair attempts.
