The cowl grille covers the cowl area between the hood and the windshield and provides the air intake screen for the HVAC system fresh air inlet. Because the grille also forms the visible upper edge of the cowl when the hood is closed, fit and finish matter for the visible body appearance and for the airflow path to the HVAC blower.
