The bulb provides the amber turn signal function and, in dual-filament configurations, the lower-intensity park lamp function as well, mounting to the headlamp assembly through a keyed bayonet base that locks into the socket with a quarter-turn motion. The genuine bulb carries the correct filament wattage and color temperature for the truck's lighting calibration, which matters because incorrect wattage can change flasher rate timing, trigger bulb-out warnings on instrumentation, or stress the socket contacts beyond their thermal design.
