This is a genuine Ford OEM front crankshaft oil seal for 2018 through 2025 Ford applications. Part number MD8Z-6700-A is the front crank seal that fits the timing cover or front main bearing area depending on the engine application called out by the Ford parts catalog. The seal prevents engine oil leakage at the front of the crankshaft where it exits the engine block or timing cover to drive the front-end accessory drive pulley. Construction includes a precision metal case with bonded elastomer primary sealing lip, garter spring, and dust lip designed to retain engine oil and exclude road debris over the rotational speeds, temperature range, and chemical exposure of the Ford engine application. Replacement is required when the original seal is leaking engine oil indicated by oil at the front of the engine, contamination of the front belt and accessories, or after engine front cover service that disturbed the seal. Installation requires removing the front belt and accessory drive components, removing the crankshaft pulley, prying out the old seal without bore damage, cleaning the bore, and installing the new with the correct seal installer.
