• Description:

  This oil level indicator tube, commonly called the dipstick tube, is the dealer service part for 18-25 F-150 5.0L, Mustang 5.0L Coyote Gen 3, and 5.2L Voodoo applications. The tube provides the route for the dipstick into the oil pan and sits in a sealed bore in the engine block. Replacement is needed when the tube has cracked, when the dipstick seal at the top of the tube has failed and allowed oil weeping, or when corrosion at the lower end has compromised the press fit into the block. Installation requires the tube to be seated firmly into its block bore with a fresh O-ring; the block-side O-ring is a sealing point and must be replaced whenever the tube is disturbed. The tube is steel and cannot be easily reshaped if bent; receive the part in its original packaging and avoid lateral loads during installation. After installation, run the engine briefly and confirm no oil weeping at the tube-to-block interface, then verify dipstick reading matches the level expected for the oil level in the engine.
