This is the Genuine Ford EGR valve used across multiple 18-25 Ford applications including Transit 3.5L without the turbo, F-150 3.3L, and Explorer 3.3L gas engines. The EGR valve meters exhaust gas back into the intake stream under PCM control for NOx reduction, fuel efficiency, and combustion temperature management. Construction is a body with an electric actuator that drives a poppet across a calibrated seat between an exhaust passage and an intake passage. EGR valves on these engines fail by carbon accumulation at the seat, by actuator wear, or by a slow seal leak that causes the valve to read out of position to the PCM. Symptoms include rough idle, hesitation under light load, and stored P-codes related to EGR position or insufficient EGR flow. The OEM service valve replaces the original at the engineered bracket and gasket interface. Install with a fresh EGR gasket, follow the Ford-published torque sequence, clear stored fault codes, and run the engine through a complete warm-up cycle to confirm the new valve operates cleanly across its commanded range.
