This Motorcraft accessory drive belt idler pulley is a genuine Ford component that keeps the serpentine belt correctly routed and guided around the engine accessory drive, holding proper belt wrap across the alternator, air conditioning compressor and power steering. It turns on a sealed ball bearing and shares application across several EcoBoost four-cylinder platforms. It fits 2019-2021 Ford Explorer with the 2.3L EcoBoost, 2019-2021 Transit Connect, and 2020 Ford Edge, carrying Ford part number KX6Z-8678-A. Failing idlers typically announce themselves with a squeal, chirp, grinding or rattling noise from the front of the engine, belt flutter or slippage, and a pulley that spins roughly or wobbles when turned by hand. A seizing idler can wear or throw the accessory belt. Install this idler together with a fresh drive belt, confirm smooth, quiet rotation, and verify correct belt alignment before returning the engine to service.
