  This is the air conditioning compressor for 2019 through 2023 Ford Ranger trucks. The compressor is the driven pump that circulates refrigerant through the A/C system; it bolts to the front of the engine and is belt-driven from the crankshaft pulley. Use this part when the original compressor has seized, lost magnetic clutch function, developed an internal leak, or become noisy under load. Important installation notes: when replacing an A/C compressor it is standard practice to also replace the receiver-drier (or accumulator) and the orifice tube or expansion valve, to flush the system thoroughly to remove any debris from a failed compressor, and to evacuate and recharge the system with the correct refrigerant and PAG oil specification per the Ford service procedure. Failure to flush a contaminated system will void the warranty on the new compressor in most cases. The system must be properly evacuated using shop-grade vacuum equipment before recharging.
