  This Genuine Ford EGR Cooler Assembly fits 2.3L EcoBoost applications across the 19-25 Ford Bronco, 20-25 Explorer, and 19-25 Ranger. The EGR cooler is the heat exchanger that cools recirculated exhaust gas before it returns to the intake, lowering combustion peak temperatures to meet emissions standards while keeping enough exhaust enthalpy out of the intake stream for the engine to run cleanly. Replacement is common when the cooler develops an internal coolant-to-gas leak, when external corrosion or cracking allows coolant weeping, or when soot buildup has restricted the gas-side passages enough to trigger an EGR flow code. Whenever the cooler is replaced, both -B and -C gaskets in this prefix group must be replaced as one-time-use sealing items. Install the cooler with new gaskets, torque the mounting fasteners in the cross pattern called out in the Ford procedure, and refill the cooling system following the bleed procedure for the 2.3L EcoBoost. Confirm there is no external coolant weeping and no EGR flow code after a full warm-up before returning the vehicle to the owner.
