• Description:

  This Genuine Ford EGR Tube O-Ring, also cataloged as the EGR Valve to Pipe Gasket Rear, fits 2.3L EcoBoost applications across the 19-25 Ford Bronco, 20-25 Explorer, and 19-25 Ranger. The o-ring forms the seal between the EGR tube and the EGR valve at the rear connection, where high-temperature exhaust gas is routed back into the intake stream as part of the engine's emissions strategy. Replacement is a one-time-use consumable: any time the EGR tube, the EGR valve, or the EGR cooler is removed from the engine, the o-ring must be replaced with a new one. Reusing the original ring will not maintain the original seal because the rubber takes a permanent compression set after the first heat cycle. Symptoms of a failing or reused seal include an EGR-related diagnostic trouble code, hissing at idle from the rear of the engine, and a soot witness mark on the manifold near the joint. Install the new o-ring dry, in its groove, and torque the EGR tube fasteners to the specified value in sequence so the joint pulls down evenly.
