This is a genuine Ford transmission auxiliary cooler bypass valve for 19-25 Bronco Sport, Escape, Transit Connect, and Corsair applications equipped with the 1.5L, 2.0L, or 2.3L engine variants. Dealer catalog references note that the valve is included with a complete auxiliary cooler assembly replacement but is also sold individually for service. The bypass valve controls flow through the transmission auxiliary cooler based on transmission fluid temperature, allowing the transmission to warm up quickly from a cold start by bypassing the cooler, then opening flow once operating temperature is reached. A stuck valve can produce either chronically high transmission temperature with the cooler bypassed, or excessive cold weather warm up time with the cooler always engaged. Either condition shortens transmission fluid life and can produce transmission feel complaints across model year transitions. Always confirm the engine code and transmission cooler routing against your VIN before installation, and consider replacing the related o-rings during the same service event.
