The pan bolts to the underside of the block and ladder frame, holds the engine oil charge, houses the drain-plug boss, and provides the sealing surface and pickup clearance the oil pump relies on for a consistent supply. Drivers need this part after impact or road-debris damage that cracked or dented the pan, a stripped or leaking drain-plug thread, or persistent seepage from a corroded or warped sealing flange.
