This Genuine Ford transmission clutch friction plate fits 20-22 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with the 10R140 ten-speed automatic transmission and is the E-variant for a specific clutch position within the gearbox. The 10R140 uses six clutch elements labeled A through F, and each position uses friction plates sized to its drum diameter, spline count, and apply pressure target. The friction lining bonded to the steel core uses a specific friction coefficient and oil-grooved surface matched to the transmission fluid friction modifier package and the apply rate dictated by the valve body and transmission control module. Substituting friction plates with the wrong lining, thickness, or groove pattern can cause harsh engagement, slipping under load, premature glazing, or chatter. When servicing the 10R140 clutch packs, soak new friction plates in clean specified transmission fluid before assembly, replace the steel plates alongside the frictions when wear or heat damage is present, and set the clutch pack clearance to factory specification using the published selective washer chart.
