This Genuine Ford transmission shift control cable fits 20-22 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with the 10R140 ten-speed automatic transmission. It supersedes the earlier -A and -C suffixes. The shift cable connects the column shifter to the manual lever on the transmission, mechanically signaling park, reverse, neutral, drive, and the lower gear ranges. Cable bushings, sheathing, and end-fitting integrity are critical because a stretched or misadjusted cable can leave the transmission positioned between detents, allowing the truck to start in unintended gears or roll while the lever appears to be in park. Symptoms of a worn cable include hard shift lever movement, gear indicator misalignment, and the manual lever on the transmission not aligning to the detent positions when checked at the transmission. This Genuine Ford cable is preformed to the factory routing with the correct end fittings and grommets.
