• Description:

  This Genuine Ford engine oil deflector fits 20-22 F-Super Duty trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine and is positioned at the outer crankshaft snout area as a windage and oil control element. It is included with the front cover assembly and is sold separately for service. The deflector controls oil shedding from the rotating crankshaft and timing gear, preventing aerated oil from entering the front crankshaft seal area and managing oil drain back patterns inside the front cover cavity. A missing or damaged deflector can cause front crankshaft seal weeping and inconsistent oil pressure during cold starts and rapid throttle transients, as well as accelerated front cover gasket leakage along the lower edge. non-OEM deflectors often miss the correct profile or material, defeating the oil shedding function. The deflector should be replaced any time the front cover is removed for timing chain service, oil pump replacement, water pump service, or front crankshaft seal renewal. Confirm correct orientation during the install and torque the retaining hardware to the published specification, then install a new front crankshaft seal and front cover gasket before final assembly.
