• Description:

  This genuine Ford steering rack tie rod boot kit (part number L1MZ-3332-B) fits 20-23 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and Ford Police Interceptor Utility models equipped with electric power steering. It supersedes the earlier L1MZ-3332-A boot and is the current OEM service part for the U625 platform. The kit covers the inner end of the steering rack on both left and right positions, providing one boot design that fits either side of the rack housing. The accordion-style rubber boot seals the inner tie rod ball joint and the steering rack housing against road grime, water, salt spray, and debris. By containing the grease pack on the inner ball joint and excluding contaminants from the rack teeth and pinion bearings, the boot is essential to long rack life. Fits applications with the 4 cylinder 2.3 liter gasoline engine, the 6 cylinder 3.0 liter gasoline engine, the 6 cylinder 3.3 liter flex fuel engine, and the 6 cylinder 3.3 liter full hybrid EV-gas powertrain. The boot itself is a one-time-use item once it has been stretched onto a new tie rod or pulled off the rack housing band; reusing a previously installed boot risks tearing at the convolutions and immediate contamination of the joint.
