  This is a genuine Ford radiator upper support adhesive foam strip for 20-23 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models. The foam strip mounts along the upper edge of the radiator support and seals the gap between the support and the underside of the hood when closed, forcing incoming air through the radiator and air conditioning condenser rather than allowing it to spill over the top of the cooling stack. Without the foam strip in place, cooling and condenser efficiency drops at low vehicle speeds because air takes the path of least resistance around the radiator. Symptoms of a missing or damaged foam strip include elevated coolant temperatures during stop and go traffic, weaker air conditioning performance in slow traffic, longer cool-down time after engine shutdown, and a visible gap between the radiator support and the hood with the hood closed. The strip is commonly damaged or removed during front-end collision repair, condenser replacement, or grille service, and many vehicles are returned to the owner with this part absent.
