This Genuine Ford Motorcraft accessory drive belt tensioner assembly maintains correct tension on the serpentine belt that drives the accessories on the 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8. It fits 2020-2023 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 trucks equipped with the 6.7L diesel and carries Ford engineering number KR3Z-6B209-A. Engineered for the high accessory loads of the diesel drive, the spring-loaded tensioner keeps constant pressure on the belt so the alternator, water pump, and other components stay driven without slipping. A tired or failing tensioner usually shows up as a squealing or chirping belt on cold start, a rattling or grinding noise from the front of the engine, belt wobble or misalignment, rapid belt wear, or a rough or seized pulley bearing. Ford builds this as a complete assembly because the damper spring and pulley bearing wear together, so replacing the whole unit and inspecting the belt is the correct repair. This Motorcraft tensioner is calibrated for the diesel accessory-drive load and is not interchangeable with a gas-engine tensioner. Relieve tension with the proper serpentine tool before removing the belt, confirm correct routing on reassembly, and check that the pulley turns freely and runs true once installed.
