  This is the genuine Ford air conditioning refrigerant discharge hose, cataloged as Discharge Hose and Tube Assembly, for the 2020 through 2024 Ford Explorer built with the 2.3L EcoBoost four cylinder, applicable to vehicles produced up to the 5/13/2024 build break. The discharge line is the high pressure, high temperature leg of the A/C circuit: it carries hot compressed refrigerant vapor from the compressor outlet to the condenser at the front of the vehicle, where that heat is rejected to ambient air before the refrigerant condenses to a liquid. The assembly combines a flexible hose section with formed aluminum tube ends and captive sealing fittings so it can absorb engine movement while withstanding the pressures the compressor generates. Buyers usually need this part when the air conditioning has stopped blowing cold and a leak check traces the loss of charge to a crimped fitting, a chafed hose section, or a corroded tube run, when there is visible oily refrigerant residue or dye staining along the hose, when a fitting O-ring has failed and the system will not hold vacuum, or when the line has been damaged during collision repair or condenser replacement.
