This is a genuine Ford OEM automatic transmission filter or fluid screen for the 2020 through 2024 Ford Explorer, Police Interceptor Utility, and Lincoln Aviator. Part number MB3Z-7G186-A is the transmission internal screen filter that captures debris from the transmission fluid before it returns to the pump, protecting the valve body, solenoids, and internal hydraulic circuits from particulate contamination. The screen supersedes prior service part FT-218 and LP5Z-7A098-A. Construction is woven fine mesh stainless or synthetic media in a molded plastic frame engineered to fit the transmission pan and pump pickup specifically for the 10R60 or related transmission used in the Ford CD6 platform. Replacement is required at the Ford-specified service interval, after transmission service that includes pan drop, after debris contamination, or as part of transmission overhaul. Installation involves draining transmission fluid, dropping the pan, removing the old screen, installing the new with proper orientation, and refilling with the Ford-specified transmission fluid using the dipstick or fill procedure per service information.
