This is a genuine Ford OEM HVAC climate control head unit for the 20-24 Ford Explorer. The control head is the dash-mounted module that provides the user interface for the climate system including temperature setpoints, fan speed, mode selection, and defroster control. This part supersedes legacy references CCM355 and CCM463 and is the current service part. As an OEM Ford module the control logic, button mapping, display backlight calibration, and CAN bus communication protocol are matched to the Explorer body control architecture, providing seamless integration with the HVAC actuators, blower module, and refrigerant system. non-OEM climate control heads in this position frequently cannot communicate correctly with the Ford CCMS and will set DTCs or revert to default operation. Replacement may require module configuration via Ford IDS or FDRS. Install with the center stack trim removed, transfer the harness connector carefully, and verify all control functions including blend door movement and defrost activation after installation.
