This is a genuine Ford OEM rear backup camera assembly for the 20-24 Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor Utility Base and XLT trims. The camera is integrated into the tailgate handle assembly and provides the rear-view image displayed on the dash screen when reverse is selected. This part supersedes earlier suffixes LB5Z-19G490-B and LB5Z-19G490-C and is the current service part. As an OEM Ford camera the image sensor resolution, field of view, lens distortion correction, and serial link to the body control module are calibrated to the Explorer rear vision system. non-OEM cameras in this position frequently cannot interface with the Ford module communication or have incorrect lens geometry that fails to align with the dash overlay guidelines. Replacement typically requires programming via Ford IDS or FDRS to register the new camera with the body module. Confirm Base or XLT trim before ordering as higher trims with surround-view use a different camera assembly with different optics.
