  This is a genuine Ford OEM HVAC lower control module for the 20-24 Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor Utility, for configurations without rear heated seats. The lower control mounts below the primary climate head and provides additional climate control features including driver and passenger heated seat controls in the configurations equipped with front heated seats. The without-rear-heated-seats variant differs from the with-rear-heated-seats variant in the absence of the rear seat heat function buttons. As an OEM Ford module the control logic, button mapping, and CAN bus communication protocol are matched to the Explorer body control architecture. non-OEM lower control modules in this position frequently cannot communicate correctly with the Ford BCMS and will set DTCs. Confirm rear heated seat equipment before ordering. Install with the center stack trim removed, transfer the harness connector carefully, and verify all control functions after installation.
