• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford timing cover gasket for the 1.5L EcoBoost three-cylinder engine in 20-25 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles. The gasket seals the joint between the engine block and the front timing chain cover, preventing engine oil from leaking out and contaminants from entering the timing chain area. The 1.5L EcoBoost is a chain-driven engine with the timing cover housing the chain, tensioner, and integrated water pump drive, so a leaking gasket can release oil onto the accessory drive belt, the alternator, or the exhaust manifold, creating a fire hazard and accelerating belt wear. Common reasons for replacement include leakage discovered during a water pump service, timing chain replacement, or oil pump service, since the timing cover must be removed to access those components. Ford service procedures call for replacing the gasket any time the cover is unbolted, applying RTV sealant at the specified corner junctions, and torquing the cover bolts in the prescribed sequence to avoid distortion. Install dry per the gasket manufacturer notes.
