• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford water pump assembly with gasket for the 1.5L EcoBoost three-cylinder engine in 20-25 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles. The pump circulates engine coolant through the block, cylinder head, heater core, and radiator, and is driven by the timing chain on the front of the engine. Common failure modes include bearing failure causing pump whine or wobble, weep hole leakage as the internal shaft seal degrades, and impeller damage that reduces coolant flow and triggers overheating. Symptoms include coolant loss without visible external leaks (often a small puddle under the front of the engine), engine overheating in traffic, white steam from the exhaust, milky engine oil if the seal fails internally, and coolant temperature gauge fluctuations. Because the 1.5L EcoBoost uses a chain-driven water pump on a timing cover, replacement is labor intensive and requires removing the timing cover assembly per Ford service procedure.
