Genuine Ford Fuel Vapor Canister LX6Z-9D653-F is the OEM evaporative emissions carbon canister that captures hydrocarbon vapors vented from the fuel tank and stores them on activated charcoal until the engine is operating and the purge valve cycles them into the intake for combustion. Fitment covers 20-25 Ford Bronco Sport, 20-25 Ford Escape, 20-25 Lincoln Corsair, and 22-25 Ford Maverick vehicles equipped with 1.5L EcoBoost, 2.0L EcoBoost, or 2.3L EcoBoost gasoline powertrains. The canister mounts under the vehicle in the rear suspension area and integrates with the EVAP purge solenoid, vent solenoid, and dust separator filter. Symptoms calling for replacement include EVAP leak codes such as P0442, P0455, P0457, and P0496, persistent fuel odor near the rear of the vehicle, charcoal pellets present at the vent line, smoke test failure, and inability to complete the EVAP readiness monitor.
