• Description:

  This genuine Ford engine camshaft is the exhaust camshaft for the 1.5L three cylinder EcoBoost engine used in the 2020 through 2025 Escape and the 2021 through 2025 Bronco Sport. The camshaft rides in the cylinder head and its precision ground lobes open and close the exhaust valves in exact time with crankshaft rotation, working together with the variable valve timing phaser to control valve events across the rev range. A worn or damaged exhaust camshaft can produce ticking or tapping noise from the top of the engine, rough idle, loss of power, poor fuel economy and camshaft correlation or timing related diagnostic trouble codes, and lobe wear is a common reason for replacement when the timing chain system is serviced. Ford identifies this part under base number 6250 as the camshaft, and it is keyed to the exhaust side so it must not be interchanged with the intake camshaft. It is supplied as a bare precision machined shaft. Always replace the timing chain, tensioner and phaser hardware as recommended when the front cover is opened, and verify engine application before installation because the intake and exhaust camshafts are not interchangeable.
