  Authentic Ford Motor Company replacement liftgate hinge assembly for the 20-25 Ford Escape. This hinge bolts between the roof rear and the liftgate and provides the pivot axis that allows the rear liftgate to open. Each piece is sold individually; the Escape liftgate uses a pair of hinges and both should be inspected when one shows wear, since asymmetric wear between the left and right hinges can cause the liftgate to bind. The hinge uses the original Ford fastener pattern and torque specifications; the hinge-to-body and hinge-to-liftgate bolts should always be replaced with new Ford fasteners during installation and torqued per the workshop manual. Replacing a bent, corroded, sagging, or collision-damaged hinge is essential to the proper alignment of the liftgate to the rear quarter panels, roof, and rear bumper cover and prevents the liftgate from striking the surrounding body when opened or closed. After installation, the liftgate alignment should be checked at all corners and the latch engagement and weatherstrip seal compression should be verified.
